Arctic Monkeys look set to clean up at the Q Awards after being nominated in 4 of the 6 categories.
The Sheffield band are up for Best New Act, Best Live Act, Best Album and Best Track for the single ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.’
Ian McAndrew, the group’s manager, said this week,
“All the band members will be there and they’re looking forward to it – it’s by far the best awards ceremony. And if Oasis are there it’s sure to be an eventful night.”
British TV presenter Jonathan Ross will host the awards for the third year in a row. The ceremony takes place on October 30 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Artic Monkeys are planning to release an official biography, all in time for christmas.
Apparently the band were annoyed when someone they had never even met or spoken to released an unofficial account of the groups rise to fame over the last year, so have decided to release their own.
It is expected that this official book will finally reveal why drummer Andy Nicholson left the band earlier this year.

The release features one new song, ‘Leave Before the Lights Come On’ and two cover versions, ‘Put Your Dukes Up, John’ by The Little Flames and ‘Baby I’m Yours’, originally recorded by Barbara Lewis.

Arctic Monkeys have decided to record their new album in Kensal Rise London rather than their home town of Sheffield.
“The Monkeys are a confident bunch of lads and believe in their music. But they know all eyes and ears will be on the follow-up. With that in mind they decided they didn’t want any distractions. Fans turning up outside their studio in Sheffield would have altered their focus so it was decided to find a spot in London.”
